The European Union Blue Book Traineeships Program 2025, also known as the EU Traineeships Program, is an opportunity for young professionals to gain hands-on experience in the workings of the European Union. Twice a year, the Commission offers 5-month paid traineeships in its Directorate-Generals, agencies, and bodies, which have signed a Service Level Agreement with DG EAC/the Commission.

Trainees work all over the European Commission, its services, and agencies, mostly in Brussels, Luxembourg, and elsewhere across the European Union. The European Union Blue Book Traineeships Program 2025 Trainees will have the opportunity to work on projects related to their field of study and gain a better understanding of the EU’s policies and decision-making processes.

The nature of your work will depend on the service you are assigned to. You may, for example, work in the field of competition law, human resources, environmental policy, etc. The European Commission Traineeship helps applicants with disability through concrete measures. Once selected for this Traineeship, you will be eligible for the following benefits:

  • You will receive a Living Allowance.
  • The Monthly Living Allowance will be 1,229.23€ Per Month.
  • Trainees will also Receive Reimbursements for Visa Costs.
  • Medical fees.
  • Airfare Travel Expenditures may also be reimbursed.
  • March to the end of July.
  • October to the end of February of the following year.

The traineeship program is open to university graduates who:

  • Have completed a standard 3-year higher education degree.
  • We accept the following documents
  • Diplomas or certificates with final grades clearly indicate the Euro pass Diploma Supplement (if available).
  • University transcripts.
  • Have no prior work experience of any kind.
  • Have a very good knowledge of languages.
  • Have a very good knowledge of languages
  • For the administrative traineeship – you must have a very good knowledge of two EU official languages.
  • You must be able to translate into your main/target language (normally your mother tongue), from two other official EU languages (source languages).
  • Your main/target language must be one of the official EU languages
  • Your first source language for translation must be a working language of the EU: English, French or German
  • Your second source language can be any of the official EU languages with at least B2-level proficiency.
  • All candidates must declare one mother tongue.
  • No points are awarded for the mother tongue and, therefore, no evidence of this is required.
  • You can declare up to three mother tongues.

  • Check your email account (including your spam folder) for confirmation.
  • In the email, follow the link to ‘create your password’.
  • Choose your password and submit it
  • Click ‘proceed’ to the application form
  • Use either the email or your ECAS username to log in afterward. 

Candidates for EC traineeships and trainees cannot log in using electronic IDs.
